Your Questions Answered
We answer the most typical questions about travel insurance.
Will I be covered if I miss my cruise because of the repositioning of the cruise ship due to poor weather conditions?
Yes, depending on the insurance package you purchased, we can provide coverage if your cruise is canceled prior to your departure from your departure point. You are also covered for cruise cancellation after your departure from your departure point, but prior to departure of the cruise ship. Coverage is provided for cruise cancellations resulting from mechanical failure, grounding or quarantine of the cruise ship, or the repositioning of the cruise ship due to weather conditions.
What will happen if I pay a deposit and the tour operator goes bankrupt?
Depending on the insurance package you purchased, we can provide coverage against unforeseen financial default or bankruptcy of any tour operator, cruise line or airline carrier, provided the supplier does not appear on the list of travel suppliers for which coverage is not provided (view the list). This coverage would provide reimbursement of the non-refundable portion of prepaid travel arrangements.
If an act of terrorism occurs at my destination, will I be reimbursed?
Yes, depending on the insurance package you purchased. The act of terrorism must have occurred after the purchase of the insurance and within the foreign city originally ticketed, for a period that includes your travel period and at which you are scheduled to arrive within 30 days of the incident. The act of terrorism must also be documented by the United States Department of State or reported by a major print media (such as Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal or Reuters News Service). Please see the travel insurance policy for complete details and for a definition of terrorism.
If I choose to rent a car while on vacation, will I have insurance if I get into an accident?
Yes. Included in the Deluxe Package, the liability imposed by the car rental agency on you due to physical loss or damage to the rental car will be assumed up to $25,000. This insurance is valid only if you book the car rental with the same travel agency booking your trip.
My child is traveling with me. Do I need to buy separate coverage for her?
Yes. If your child is traveling under a separate ticket, you need medical coverage for her as well as coverage to protect her against the cancellation or interruption of your trip. If your infant is not traveling under separate ticket, she has medical coverage if you or another family member in your traveling party has purchased one of our package products. See the travel insurance policy for more details.
I’m over 65 and have a few health problems. Is it still possible for me to purchase travel insurance?
Yes; coverage is available to travelers of all ages. Please review our packages and plans for more details.
